JumpStart International began in 2003 with a vision to empower Iraqis through employment projects rebuilding the country. Today, JumpStart, a US-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, builds capacity in under-resourced communities through leveraging new technologies.
Currently JumpStart supports Republic of Georgia-based JumpStart Georgia, formerly known as Open Maps Caucasus-JumpStart. In 2010, OMC-J created the first complete, digital, open source map of Georgia, and today is emerging as an innovator in combining open technologies and public data creating new capacity for engagement in Georgia.
Our Mission:
JumpStart fosters the exchange of information, building community capacity for social progress through locally-driven partnerships in under-resourced areas.
Our Vision:
JumpStart plays a lead role in cultivating community empowerment, leveraging the latest mapping approaches and technologies to support collaboration with local and international partners for sustainable impact, serving as a thought-leader to foster similar programs globally.
