JumpStart International began in 2003 with a vision to empower Iraqis through employment projects rebuilding the country. Today, JumpStart, a US-based 501(c)(3) organization, builds capacity in under-resourced communities through leveraging new technologies.

Currently JumpStart supports Republic of Georgia-based Open Maps Caucasus, a mapping initiative of JumpStart, in implementing a community-based model for creating open map data and building a lasting forum for innovation.
