JumpStart International began in 2003 with a vision to empower Iraqis through rebuilding projects. Today, JumpStart advances economic and civil society development in under-resourced communities through technology.
Currently JumpStart supports Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia-based JumpStart Georgia. In 2010, JumpStart Georgia created the first complete, digital, open source map of Georgia through a community-based mapping model powered by 1,000 volunteers.
Today JumpStart Georgia is working to make data easy to understand through analysis and visualizations. Examples include Feradi Info, which showcases infographics, and this web site for Georgia election data. As data journalist pioneers in the South Caucasus region, JumpStart Georgia helps people and organizations learn how to use code, data and design to make complex issues easy to grasp.
JumpStart fosters the exchange of information, building community capacity for social progress through locally-driven partnerships in under-resourced areas.
JumpStart cultivates community empowerment, leveraging the latest technologies to support collaboration for sustainable impact.
