About JumpStart International
JumpStart International began in 2003 with a vision to empower Iraqis through rebuilding projects. Today, JumpStart advances economic and civil society development in under-resourced communities through technology.
Currently JumpStart supports Republic of Georgia-based JumpStart Georgia (formerly known as Open Maps Caucasus – JumpStart). In 2010, JumpStart Georgia created the first complete, digital, open source map of Georgia through a community-based mapping model powered by 1,000 volunteers.
Today JumpStart Georgia is working to make data easy to understand through analysis and visualizations, such as through this web site for Georgia election data. As data journalist pioneers in the South Caucasus region, JumpStart Georgia helps people and organizations learn how to use code, data and design to make complex issues easy to grasp.
Through a community-based mapping model powered by 1,000 volunteers, JumpStart Georgia created the first complete, open, digital map of Georgia in 2010. In 2011, JumpStart Georgia engages people around the map data and open content and ways to use it to develop civil society, business, good governance and means of expression.
